What age does a player have to be to play in little league?

A player (boy or girl) needs to be between the ages of 5 and 12. Age is determined by the players age on April 30th of the season year. This rule is set by Little League International.

Are girls accepted into Bedford Little League?

Yes. Girls are welcome to play at all levels in Bedford Little League. Other options in town include Bedford Softball, www.bedfordsoftball.com.

When is registration for the spring season?

Typically, we open registration in December and continue through mid March. You may email the webmaster directly at webmaster@bedfordll.com for specific dates. Registration is done exclusively online. No exceptions will be made to this process.

Are there tryouts for Minors (A, AA, AAA) and Majors? Which players need to attend an evaluation?

Players between the ages of 8 and 12 are evaluated for placement in an appropriate level each year. Typically, this takes place in mid-March. Players between the ages of 5 and 7 are not evaluated and are placed strictly based on age as of April 30th.

When do we find out which team my child was placed on?

Each year the process takes the league several weeks to sort through evaluations and placement of nearly 800 players. In the past players were notified prior to the April school vacation.

My company would love to sponsor a team. Who do I contact for information?

The Bedford Little League has a Sponsor Coordinator who can be contacted at sponsors@bedfordll.com. Opportunities include team sponsorship and signage on the fields on Nashua Road. Listing on our website is also given to all sponsors.

I would like to volunteer as a coach, who should I contact?

Volunteers are coordinated through the Coach Coordinator. This person may be contacted at coachcoordinator@bedfordll.com. There is also a question on the registration form asking for volunteers for other positions such as team parent, assistant coach etc...

Does Bedford Little League offer tryouts for summer All Star Teams.

Yes. We are proud to have several options at all levels. The 12 year old district team is voted by players and coaches. There are also tryouts for 8,9,10 and 11 year old teams. A couple tournament teams, including the "Wooden Bat Team" and "The Matty Dobens" team, are also selected. Typically, tryouts are in early June.

Does Bedford Little League offer a fall baseball program ?

Yes. The league offers a program starting in late August / early September running until late October. The program is designed to focus on skills development for all participants with typically one game a week on Saturdays (rain day Sunday). The program is open to players between 8 - 11 years of age as of April 30th of the current calendar year. The league is split into a senior division for 10 & 11 yr olds and a junior division for 8 & 9 year olds (again as of April 30th).
